Our highly popular 3 hour photography workshop will get you up and running with your digital camera. Top photography instructor, Philip T. Adams, will teach you a simple and easily remembered approach to photography as well as introduce you to fundamental photojournalism skills. We promise, you will never want to use the automatic settings on your camera again! This course in much in demand so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Time: Saturday 9.30am – 12.30pm and 2.00pm – 5.00pm

The group workshop begins with a short and simple introduction to photography fundamentals before moving to Belfast City Hall where participants are led through a series of exercises that reinforce the basics. The group then moves to the Titanic Memorial Garden, local coffee shops, Corn Market or St. George’s Market where they are encouraged to use their new skills.  The workshop covers composition, exposure, aperture, depth of field and shutter speed.

Please bring…

• A digital camera is required for all walks. You will need to bring your own camera. Participants will get more out of the photowalk if they own a DSLR, but a ‘point-and-shoot’ camera is fine
• Please wear comfortable shoes & appropriate, waterproof clothing for weather
• This tour operates rain or shine unless the weather is extreme

Our courses will not only introduce you to new, creative skills; they are fun, social occasions where you can meet and  mingle with your tutors and fellow participants!

‘Belfast After Dark’
Water, Sunsets and Reflections

Learn and experience Low Light and Night Photography. The workshop includes a three hour hands-on night photography walk along Belfast’s beautiful Lagan bridges and the Cathedral Quarter. You will have an opportunity to experiment with the architecture and ambient light.

The workshop consists of an intensive one hour training session explaining the technical aspect of night light. Following this, a two hour, hands-on Photo Walk through Belfast, the Lagan bridges and the Cathedral Quarter will give you the opportunity to experiment with the architecture and ambient light. You’ll discover what techniques can be used to make electric shots full of atmosphere, life and colour.

You will see Belfast City Centre and the Cathedral Quarter with fresh eyes as well as picking up a few tips and tricks along the way.
